Serves 12

  • 100g Spread
  • 2 Pears (Peeled, Cored and Cut)
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 100g Caster Sugar
  • 225g Self-Raising Flour
  • 1 Egg
  • 6-7 tbsp Milk
  1. Preheat the oven to gas mark 4 (180c). Grease the sides of a 20cm square cake tin with spread and line with baking paper
  2. Put the pears in a bowl and toss in lemon juice
  3. Add the cinnamon and 1 tsp of sugar and mix
  4. Put the flour and rub in the spread. Mix in the remaining sugar and the egg and milk to make a dough
  5. Put one half of the dough into the cake tin, scatter the pears evenly over the top
  6. Spoon the rest of the dough on top of the pears
  7. Bake for 40-50 minutes
