Serves 12
- 100g Spread
- 2 Pears (Peeled, Cored and Cut)
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
- 100g Caster Sugar
- 225g Self-Raising Flour
- 1 Egg
- 6-7 tbsp Milk
- Preheat the oven to gas mark 4 (180c). Grease the sides of a 20cm square cake tin with spread and line with baking paper
- Put the pears in a bowl and toss in lemon juice
- Add the cinnamon and 1 tsp of sugar and mix
- Put the flour and rub in the spread. Mix in the remaining sugar and the egg and milk to make a dough
- Put one half of the dough into the cake tin, scatter the pears evenly over the top
- Spoon the rest of the dough on top of the pears
- Bake for 40-50 minutes
