Serves 4

  • 70g Spread
  • 150g Plain Flour
  • 30g Orange Marmalade
  • 36g Chocolate Whip
  • 325g Milk
  • 500g Oranges
  1. Rub the spread into the flour and stir in 2tbsp of water to make a dough
  2. Divide the pastry into 4 and press the pastry into tart tins. Chill for 1 hour
  3. Preheat oven to Gas Mark 6 (200c). Bake pastry blind for 20 minutes
  4.  Leave to cool
  5. Divide the marmalade between the tarts and spread over the bases
  6. Peel oranges and slice into segments. Arrange in the tarts
  7. Make up the whip with the milk as per packet instructions and spoon onto tarts
  8. Decorate with Orange zest

  • 6 Eggs
  • 100g Caster Sugar
  • Zest of 3 Oranges
  • Juice ½ Orange
  • 150g Ground Almonds

To Decorate

  • Juice of 1 ½ Oranges
  • 2 tbsp Clear Honey
  • 1 Orange (Cut into Rounds)
  1. Preheat the oven to gas mark 4 (180c). Line a cake tin with greaseproof paper and grease the sides with spread
  2. Beat together the egg yolks, sugar, orange zest, almonds and orange juice
  3. Whisk egg whites for 2 minutes and add a spoonful of cake mixture
  4. Fold in egg whites into cake mixture
  5. Pour into cake tine and bake for 35-40 minutes
  6. In the pan place orange juice and honey and cook for 6-8 minutes
  7. Remove the cake from the oven and prick the top. Spoon over ¾ of the syrup.
  8. Place oranges on top and spoon over rest of syrup

  • 3 Eggs
  • 225g Butter
  • 200g Caster Sugar
  • 125ml Milk
  • 225g Self-raising Flour
  • Juice and Zest of ½ Orange
  • 25g Cocoa Powder

 

  1. Preheat the oven to 160c
  2. Beat the eggs and add butter and sugar. Mix until light and fluffy
  3. Add the milk and flour and mix
  4.  Divide into two bowls. In one bowl add the orange zest and juice and combine into the other add the cocoa powder
  5. Add half of each mixture into each case and gently stir with a skewer
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes

  • 125g Butter
  • 125g Caster Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 125g Self Raising Flour
  • Zest 1 Orange
  • 1 tbsp Poppy Seeds
  1. Preheat the oven to gas mark 4 (180c). Place the cake cases in the tin
  2. Beat the butter and sugar until fluffy. Stir in the eggs one by one.
  3. Sift the flour mixing it gently
  4. Add the orange zest and poppy seeds
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes

Orange Chicken Bake

Yes I’m having a run of oranges. I didnt like this recipe as much as yesterdays. I think it hard a slight fake orange taste (most likely the orange juice I used) But its low 6 ProPoints.

  • 6 Potato’s
  • 3 Leeks
  • 2 Oranges
  • 1.3kg Chicken
  • 1tsp Thyme
  • 90ml Orange Juice
  • 100ml Chicken Stock

 

  1. Preheat oven to gas mark 4 (180c)
  2. Peel and cut potatoes. Roughly chop the leeks.
  3. Place the potatoes and leeks in an ovenproof dish and season
  4. Place slices of orange on top and add the chicken pieces.
  5. Season and sprinkle over thyme
  6. Pour over the orange juice and chicken stock
  7. Bake in the oven for 1 ¼ hours

Orange Pork

I loved this. Remember to prepare it the night before though! Its 7 ProPoints.

Serves One

  • 150g Pork Fillet
  • 1tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2tsp Sweet Chilli Sauce
  • 1tsp Orange Zest
  • 3tbsp Orange Juice
  • 1tsp Ginger
  • 2 Spring Onions
    1.  Add soy sauce, chilli sauce, orange zest, orange juice, orange zest, ginger and spring onions into a bowl with the pork

  • Cover and leave overnight
  • Fry the pork  for 5-6 minutes on both sides
  • Add marinade and simmer for 3 minutes
